Halloween == Best Holiday Ever

October 30th, 2006

Pretty much blows doors on all other holidays, I don’t really know what gets in girls heads on Halloween but I like it. What makes that ok one day and just out of the question the other 364 days?

Tower Records -> Out of business

October 26th, 2006

The tower records by my house is going out of business… To me it’s shocking that it still even exists anywhere. You can duplicate the entire Tower Records store in a kiosk at this point. Have digital catalogs that people can access through touch screens, and have production facilities inside the kiosk that burns on the fly and prints the album notes. This actually does Tower’s job better than them, because you can include live data like tour info, discounts on merchandise and tickets, subscribe to the fan club etc.

I predict in 3 yearts there won’t be any record stores save some holdout mom and pops, and you will be able to buy your music in any format you want from kiosks all over the place. Why arent there iTunes kiosks now? Dock your ipod and cop some tunes. Anywho, sad to see a local landmark go but lets face it the dinosaurs are long dead and record stores will be soon.

PDASD Dinner

October 24th, 2006

My Mom was honored at this year’s Spirit of Life dinner for the Parkinsons Disease Association, and the whole family came out to support her. Her Dad, my grandfather, was diagnosed with Parkinsons and eventually succumbed to the disease when I was about 12. She has spent huge chunks of her time and energy since then raising money for Parkinsons research, including being president and serving on the board of the San Diego chapter of the PDA. So it was a night to honor her and raise money for the cause. I helped out by donating a photo of Mickey Mantle and Pete Rose autographed by both, and by giving a short speech about my grandfather. I havent spoken in front of people since Digital Hollywood last year, so I was a bit nervous. After all, only 400 highly respected members of our community, lots of tv and radio personalities, throw in a congressman, no pressure right? Thankfully my grandfather’s spirit was with me and I did ok. My brother gave a great speech and overall I think the dinner went really well. My Mom was really happy and it was a great way to remember Gramps and help people afflicted with Parkinsons.

LAS VEGAS – UFC – MOTOXXX

October 16th, 2006

Dammit I love her and dammit she loves me back. What a town. Went to my very first UFC fight on Saturday night, had excellent seats courtesy of David. This was of course directly after kicking it on the track @ the US Open of Motocross courtesy of Hank and Don. Oh speaking of Freek Racing, I have a t-shirt named after me, how cool is that??? Well cool except for the fact that they haven’t sent ME one *ahem*

I can’t really divulge any other details about what may or may not have happened so u will just have to guess.

SuperChargers

October 10th, 2006

Haven’t been able to post for a while cuz Nick took forever getting the old hosting01.fivemtn.com back up and my copy of the db was not so fresh. Had lots of stuff to post, mostly in regards to my wacky weekend. I am over it now, but suffice to say I misplaced 130k or so in vehicles in one night. Most importantly, the SD SuperChargers proved their dominance yet again.. We tailgated as usual in the same spot that we have been doing it for 5+ years, which is now all of a sudden where my ******** tailgates too!! What a coincidence!! But after watching V for Vendetta last night I know there are no coincidences….

Anywho I have my blog back so I will continue to keep you posted on the quest for Jessica Alba
