Ok, so I have a French bulldog named Rocky, and if you know him you know he has massive gas problems. So initially we tried some crazy food that required a lot of preparation on my part, which worked better than eukanuba but still produced some odorous results. Recently I switched to Innova, and the results have been great. Less odorous after effects, he has more energy, eats less and it’s cheaper!! All that == a happier family!

My Mom was honored at this year’s Spirit of Life dinner for the Parkinsons Disease Association, and the whole family came out to support her. Her Dad, my grandfather, was diagnosed with Parkinsons and eventually succumbed to the disease when I was about 12. She has spent huge chunks of her time and energy since then raising money for Parkinsons research, including being president and serving on the board of the San Diego chapter of the PDA. So it was a night to honor her and raise money for the cause. I helped out by donating a photo of Mickey Mantle and Pete Rose autographed by both, and by giving a short speech about my grandfather. I havent spoken in front of people since Digital Hollywood last year, so I was a bit nervous. After all, only 400 highly respected members of our community, lots of tv and radio personalities, throw in a congressman, no pressure right? Thankfully my grandfather’s spirit was with me and I did ok. My brother gave a great speech and overall I think the dinner went really well. My Mom was really happy and it was a great way to remember Gramps and help people afflicted with Parkinsons.

Wow, what a couple of days. If you know you know, if not suffice to say life is a roller coaster. The choices in front of us never seem clear until they are behind us, and then we are either kicking ourselves or… I guess everyone wants to be happy, but maybe they should give us a manual or at least show us the previews.
I think the hardest thing is to turn your back on things you are comfortable with when you know they are wrong for your life. You know it is the right decision and the right thing to do but at the same time it hurts as you lose those things you are so familiar with, that feel so safe. I have done it many times and later on has never seemed like the wrong thing to do, but EVERY TIME it felt like I was dying, which makes me feel better that this time may be no different. Feels different though.
It is definitely a troubling time, and others are going through much harder things than I. Helps to put things in perspective, but I hate that the only thing that cheers me up is that it could be worse.

Finally got my sidekick battery… the one I ordered off ebay, not the one from T-Mobile. Finally powered it up with my sim card, but was prompted to enter some other guy’s password. There is no option to reset it, so I spent another 20 minutes on hold with T-mobile.
Sidenote: It is REALLY funny when a T-Mobile customer service rep doesn’t understand what you said. This lady was asking me what my phone number was (after I had entered it through the automated system - DUH) and she couldn’t understand me because of my shitty cell reception in my house. She kept having me repeat myself and kept getting it wrong, but she would never say it was because of a bad connection. She would say “spoeak up sir I cannot hear you” even though I was yelling directly into the microphone. I guess they aren’t allowed to say that T-Mobile service is ever anything less than perfect.
Anyways, I finally got on with a Sidekick tech, and she had me do some interesting secret Sidekick reset commands. To reset the thing, I took out my sim card and rebooted the phone. When it is fully rebooted, press @-1-0 all at the same time and hold them down. Your phone will reboot, keep holding them until you see the 4 icons, then release. Your phone will reboot again, and it will be like new. I am not sure if this will work without a customer service rep, they may have to some initializing with your serial number. At any rate, at this point my phone was as ne, telling me to wait up to 2 hours for activation. To get past this screen, hold menu + L
Hope this helps someone.

I was cruising by my blog the other day (is looking at your own blog like catching a look of yourself in the mirror? like ‘damn im sexy’) and found myself thinking about how come I never blog, and came up with two reasons. One, the stuff that goes on in my life is rarely interesting enough to blog about or if it is, I am not sure I want it on the internet. Two, I get about 15-30 emails a day telling me I have comments for moderation. 99.99999% of these are spam, meaning I get a lot of spam emails… great. This results in my subconscious hatred of my blog since I hate spam. Yes, that’s my excuse.
There has been lots of stuff going on though, Zeropaid is going through it’s summer dip as the kids get off school. To supplement we are trying a couple things, like diversifying. We bought an anonymous web proxy service, which allows people to visit websites that may be blocked by their school or work. Stick it to the man! I also got sick of looking at the homepage, so we are changing it. You can check out our progress here.
The dip sucks, especially since we have taken on some extra responsibilities in some new employees and other fiscal obligations. I have two new investment properties in Louisiana that aren’t free. Goes with the territory I guess.
My girl just finished getting her MBA from SDSU, and I am so proud of her! She must like school a lot, since she is taking her LSATs and applying to law schools. I can’t wait until she gets done so I can retire.

Just got my Sidekick 3 in the mail, and it is pretty sick. I always liked the sidekick design and keyboard functionality, and the 3 improves on everything that was cool about the previous SK’s.

So a while back Zeropaid reported that AT&T was sending all voice & data traffic to the NSA. This has now been chillingly confirmed by a podcast on a ZDNET blog. Through Zeropaid we have donated a large sum to the only people fighting this unconstitutional survelliance, the EFF. The EFF has filed a suit against AT&T, and they need your support. Support the EFF today!!!
